We build InterviewMan, so read this with that in mind. Everything below comes from a channel called #success-stories on our own Discord server. Discord is a group chat app, and our server is invite-only, which means you cannot find it by searching and join: somebody already inside has to send you a link.

The assessment platform reports
Two words you will need. An OA is an online assessment, the automated coding test a company sends you before any human talks to you. Proctored means watched, usually by a webcam, a screen recording, or both.

Standard Mode puts an invisible overlay on the same machine as the test. It is excluded from the screen-capture interfaces that browsers and assessment sites use, so it sits on the physical display but not in anything the site records.
AJ, April 21 2026: "I was able to clear hackerrank proctored OA with stealth mode. Thank you"
Stealth Mode is the two-device setup: the desktop app runs hidden and answers appear on a paired phone, tablet or second browser. It leaves nothing on the interview screen at all. You have to pair the devices before the round starts, because you cannot pair mid-test.
AJ posted a follow-up on May 15 2026 that is more useful than the original:
"The experience really depends on how you pretend to know the answer. Hackerrank OA had webcam on so it tracks your body language and nuances about you answering, plagiarism scores etc. I had to be super careful about not making it apparent that I was using another device to view the code"
That is the trade-off between the two modes, and AJ names it well. Stealth Mode keeps the interview machine clean, and it costs you eye movement.

CodeSignal is another browser-based assessment platform. Same shape as the first report: browser test, own machine, overlay outside the browser.
A member posting under an emoji handle, August 21 2026: "Used interview on hackerrank with the built in video with three people watching me. Completely undetected and cleared the interview"
Three live humans on video is a harder case than an automated proctor, because people notice pauses and gaze. It is also where overlay position matters most: you want it over your code area, not off to one side.
shaka, August 25 2026: "Had a hackerrank screen sharing interview yesterday with Thomson Reuters. Passed with flying colors. InterviewMan installed on Windows OS, no pass-through enabled, simple standard mode with screenshots. thanks to InterviewMan I am moving to System design round."
Three specifics matter here. Windows, so everything ran on one machine. Pass-through off, meaning clicks landed on the overlay. And screenshots, the manual input you use when the question is code on screen rather than a spoken sentence.
The long-session reports
Killjoy, July 25 2026: "Was able to crack two levels of Interview using interviewman and each round was almost 2 hours long. Thank you Interviewman team"
Asked whether Stealth Mode was needed, Killjoy followed up: "no Sir, didn't need it. Ran it on standard mode for 4 hours straight. Just had to clear context every 5 questions or so to keep the context window spacious enough for quality answers."

See all reviewsThat tip is the most practical thing in the whole channel, so here is what it means. Context is everything the tool is still holding in memory from earlier in the session: the transcript so far, the earlier questions, the earlier answers. It uses that to stay on topic.
The catch is that it fills up. A long session drags an hour of unrelated talk into every new answer. Clearing the context throws that history away and starts fresh, which keeps later answers as sharp as the first ones. Killjoy's rule of thumb was every five questions or so, and there is a keyboard shortcut for it.

Custom instructions are the standing notes you write once before the round: your background, your stack, how you want answers shaped. MOD's "structure it well" is the important half. Specific instructions produce specific answers, because the tool has something to anchor to.

Beagle, July 28 2026: "I was really nervous during the coding interview, but thanks to the Interviewman team!, I was able to pass the test"
NoTolerance, July 7 2026: "I have been using it for a month, took the subscription, works very good as they claim. The model could use some improvement but it has your back during the interviews"
One more, and the source is different: texkev73 left an App Store review on April 8 2026 titled "3 Months nothing until I installed this", saying "I'm getting better call backs for positions". That is a store review, not a Discord post. The store reviews are collected in our reviews write-up.
Cloud, May 9 2026 posted no result at all, just the reason the channel exists: "There is just something fundamentally wrong with software engineering interviews with the amount of hoops we have to jump through for a job."
Setup notes from the same channel
shaka, May 31 2026: "Amazing product, worked out of the box. Just a word of caution to people using it with Google meet, remember to disable studio quality option inside google meet settings, else InterviewMan wont be able to use the mic."
This one deserves its own explanation, because it is easy to miss. InterviewMan listens through your device microphone, not through your computer's audio output. Only one app can hold the microphone at a time.
Google Meet's studio quality setting takes exclusive hold of the mic to clean up your voice, so InterviewMan hears nothing while it is on. Turn studio quality off before the call. The same logic is why you should not wear headphones with this tool: the interviewer's voice has to reach the room, not just your ears.

This is the Stealth Mode trade-off AJ described, from the other side. Standard Mode exists partly for this reason: the overlay sits on your own screen, over the area you are already looking at.
Two members asked before a round rather than after. Kirti, May 6 2026: "Guys can someone please confirm app works securely on hacker rank, I have a coding round next week". akpalert, June 3 2026, on a private proctored web test: "Which mode will be most secure? Standard vs Stealth… Do stealth mode provides any extra undetectability security layer over standard?"
And cloud18, May 28 2026 asked for a walkthrough: "Any chance you can make a quick tutorial on how to use this platform with hackerrank and also for system design?"

Does InterviewMan actually work?
The reports above say it worked for those members, on those platforms, on those dates, mostly in Standard Mode. Your own round is the test that counts, and the free trial on the pricing page needs no card.
Does InterviewMan work on HackerRank?
Members report clearing HackerRank rounds in both modes: a proctored assessment with Stealth Mode, a round with three people watching over built-in video, and a Thomson Reuters screen share on Windows in Standard Mode. It works with browser assessments taken on your own machine, because the overlay sits outside the browser. It cannot help on hardware you do not control.

Should I use Standard Mode or Stealth Mode?
