That breadth matters for detection. Most platforms in this series are built for software engineers writing code in an editor. iMocha runs multiple-choice questions, written responses, spreadsheet simulations, typing tests and coding problems, and its proctoring is designed to sit under all of them. This is iMocha's signature feature and the one worth understanding properly.
Window Violation "records instances where the candidate tries to move out of the test window". When it triggers, you get immediate feedback: "the system will give a pop-up message saying it is not allowed". This is not a silent log. iMocha tells you, in the moment, that it saw what you did.
The employer configures a ceiling. iMocha's documentation is explicit: "You can choose to terminate the test if the candidate exceeds the maximum number of test violations allowed." The threshold is set during test setup, so it varies.
Time Violation
Separate from the count, iMocha records duration. "The Time Violation shows how much time the candidate was out of the test window." The report also "displays the Window Violation and Time Violation details for each question", so the reviewer sees not just that you left, but which question you left during and for how long.
That per-question breakdown is a sharper instrument than most platforms offer. Leaving for ninety seconds during a long coding problem reads differently from leaving for ninety seconds during a multiple-choice question, and iMocha hands the reviewer both facts.
Copy-paste and print screen blocking
iMocha can disable copy-paste and print screen outright. Recruiters "can disable copy-pasting so that the candidate cannot copy the answers from other sources online", and iMocha notes it also stops candidates copying the questions out, reducing question leakage.
There is a critical interaction here that candidates should know: "If you allow the candidate to copy/paste, the Window Violation will be disabled." iMocha adds that this is "not recommended for coding tests". Because real coding work often involves legitimate pasting, employers running coding tests face a genuine trade-off, and some of them turn Window Violation off to allow it.
Webcam snapshots and face detection
iMocha "takes random shots of the candidate in the duration of the test", and the images are appended to the report. Behind them sits "a face detection system which helps to capture the candidate eye contact, candidate movements, and multiple face detection during the test".
The report includes "all the images showing multiple face detection, no face detection and face detection", so the reviewer sees the evidence rather than only a verdict.
Screen activity and tab switching
The product page lists "AI-based monitoring of webcam, screen activity, and tab switching" as part of the Smart Proctoring Suite. Screen activity here means activity within the assessment surface, and iMocha does not publish a description of desktop-level process scanning.
Typing patterns
iMocha's proctoring writeups mention typing pattern recognition during testing. The company does not publish how heavily this is weighted, so we would not treat it as a primary risk, but it exists.
Violation logs with timestamps
Everything lands in "auto-generated violation logs with timestamps for audit trails", producing a timeline report so a recruiter "can exactly know when and what kind of cheating occurred".

Two honest caveats, the same ones we give on every platform. Vendors ship features without publishing them, so "not documented" is not "impossible". And a reviewer looking at your snapshots and your violation timeline is not limited to what the software labelled.
One more thing specific to iMocha: because Window Violation warns you in real time, this is one of the few platforms where you find out during the test that you have been flagged. Most platforms tell you nothing until a rejection email that explains nothing.

The practical consequence for a candidate is that iMocha's flags are unusually concrete. "Suspicion score 71" is arguable. "Left the test window 9 times, 4 minutes 12 seconds total, 3 minutes of it during question 6" is not. There is nothing to interpret.
Note also what the auto-terminate rule means. On a test with a low violation ceiling, the failure is not a flag on a report a human might overlook. The test ends. That is a harsher and more immediate outcome than anything else in this series.
What recruiters see in the report
Depending on the settings the employer chose, a reviewer opening an iMocha report gets:
- your score, section by section and question by question
- a Proctoring Details tab with violation counts
- Window Violation and Time Violation figures, broken down per question
- a chronological timeline of every violation with timestamps

The report is built to be defensible in an audit, which is a real requirement for iMocha's enterprise and internal-mobility customers. That design goal is why the evidence is so granular.
Using an AI interview assistant on iMocha: what works, what is risky
The rules first. If the employer's instructions prohibit outside assistance, using an AI assistant breaks them and a withdrawn offer is a real outcome. On iMocha specifically, the pop-up warning makes the expectation unusually explicit: the platform tells you, on screen, that leaving the test window is not allowed. Clearly risky on iMocha:
- Anything requiring you to leave the test window. This is the whole design. A second browser window, a separate application you click into, a chat window: each one is a counted violation, a timed absence, and on some tests a step closer to auto-termination.
- Pasting anything. Where pasting is not blocked outright, it is flagged. Where it is blocked, it simply will not work.
- Print screen. iMocha disallows it, which breaks screenshot-based helpers directly.
- A visible second device. Random webcam snapshots plus multiple face detection plus eye contact tracking make a phone on the desk a genuine risk on camera-proctored tests.
Where iMocha's documented signals do not reach:
iMocha's published proctoring is browser-level and camera-level. Nothing in it describes scanning the processes running on your machine. An overlay that draws on top of the browser without taking focus never leaves the test window, so it never triggers Window Violation. Webcam proctoring is the hard problem, and no software solves it. Eye contact tracking and multiple face detection watch the room, not the machine. How to prepare for an iMocha assessment honestly
- Ask what proctoring level is set. iMocha's levels are configurable per test. Ask specifically whether Window Violation, auto-termination and webcam proctoring are on.
- Ask whether the test auto-submits. The violation ceiling is invisible to you until you hit it. Knowing it exists changes how you behave.
- Close everything before you start. Notification pop-ups, calendar reminders and update prompts can pull focus out of the test window, and the counter does not know your intent.
- Use one monitor if you can. Not because iMocha detects a second display, but because the reflex to glance at it produces both violations and camera flags.
- Test your webcam and lighting first. No face detected is a flag. Sitting in a dark room produces it honestly.
