Interview Tips: 2026 में किसी भी Job Interview में कैसे Ace करें
2024 की पहली छमाही में 2 for 19 रहा और honestly पीछे देखूं तो पता नहीं कैसे continue किया। उन्नीस loops, दो offers जो ठुकरा दिए क्योंकि comp insulting था। Rejection पंद्रह specifically याद है क्योंकि रात ग्यारह बजे couch पर बचा हुआ thai food खा रहा था जब recruiter email आई और बस हंस दिया। वो हंसी जब इतने थक जाओ kicked होते-होते कि brain गुस्सा होना छोड़ देता है lol।
Buddy जो Stripe पर काम करता है उसने accidentally tacos खाते हुए मेरे behavioral rounds fix कर दिए। उसके office के पास एक जगह बैठे थे और phone निकालता है और एक note दिखाता है जिसमें आठ stories हैं। Disagreements, ownership, failures, cross-team wins, tight deadlines। चार sentences हर एक, क्या हुआ, क्या किया, result एक real number के साथ, क्या सीखा। बस किसी भी interview से पहले subway में पढ़ लेता है और जब तक behavioral शुरू हो पहले से पता होता है कौन सी story fit करेगी। उस weekend घर जाकर अपनी आठ करीब दो घंटे में लिख दीं। और dramatic नहीं हो रहा जब बोलता हूं मेरे behavioral rounds की पूरी dynamic बदल गई, दो हफ्ते बाद interviewer ने leadership से disagree करने के बारे में पूछा और question खत्म होने से पहले पता था कौन सी story use करनी है। Doc से पहले बीस seconds frozen बैठता literally कुछ भी सोचने की कोशिश करता।
फिर खुद को coding करते record करना शुरू किया। पचास easy LeetCode problems grind कर चुका था और ready feel हो रहा था। फिर live round में medium graph question आया और आठ मिनट पूरे silence में type करता रहा जबकि interviewer webcam से घूर रहा था। पता था क्या कर रहा हूं लेकिन देखने वाले को पता नहीं चल सकता था क्योंकि एक शब्द नहीं बोल रहा था। तो phone पर पंद्रह mediums solve करते record किया, हर step बोलते हुए। Audio playback किया और rough था। Trailing sentences। हर तीसरी line "Basically।" लंबे pauses जहां explain करना skip किया क्यों एक approach दूसरी पर चुनी। Code ठीक था। Talking garbage थी। दोनों एक साथ practice करना एक-एक अलग practice करने से बिल्कुल अलग skill निकला।
एक company जहां interview दिया उसके CTO ने monolith migration पर post publish किया था। Call से दस मिनट पहले पढ़ा, architecture section skim किया। System design में reference drop किया और interviewer की आंखें चमक उठीं और बीस मिनट architecture discuss करते रहे scripted questions run करने की बजाय। उस एक blog skim ने पूरी call की tone बदल दी। अब हर company के लिए करता हूं, दस मिनट लगते हैं।
Actual calls पर कुछ चीज़ें hard way सीखीं। Behavioral answers, नब्बे seconds max। उससे कम में unprepared लगता हूं। उससे ज़्यादा और room ठंडा हो जाता है। Coding, keyboard touch करने से पहले problem restate करो। "So मुझे unweighted graph में दो nodes के बीच shortest path चाहिए right?" ये दस seconds सोचने के लिए देता है और मैंने misunderstandings पकड़ी हैं जो बीस मिनट बर्बाद कर देतीं। जो बात किसी ने बताई नहीं ये है कि "totally sure नहीं हूं लेकिन instinct बोलता है X because Y" बहुत better land करता है pretend करने से कि पता है। Interviewers सैकड़ों ये करते हैं। Bluffing तीन seconds में पकड़ते हैं।
Anxiety सबसे लंबा time लिया crack करने में। ऐसी companies में apply करना शुरू किया जिनकी ज़्यादा care नहीं थी बस reps लेने के लिए। Interview दस तक panic "सांस नहीं आ रही" से "ठीक है ये बुरा है लेकिन कर सकता हूं" तक आ गया। लेकिन पूरी तरह गया कभी नहीं। Roommate बार-बार बोलता था InterviewMan try करो और months तक ना बोलने के बाद finally sign up किया क्योंकि anxiety उन interviews बर्बाद करने से थक गया जहां material actually आता था। Screen पर बैठता है interviewer को invisible और mic से सुनकर suggestions दिखाता है। Cue cards की तरह use करता हूं, brain खाली हो तो glance करो, flow में हो तो ignore करो। बारह रुपये महीना annual। खुद test किया, dock, Activity Monitor, screen recording, WebRTC check किया। कहीं कुछ visible नहीं। 57,000 users, 4.8 stars। Cluely hiding stuff के लिए पचहत्तर extra मांगता है जो InterviewMan बारह में include करता है।
